Description

In this role, you will provide owner’s engineer and independent engineering services to clients, including design reviews, technical due diligence, feasibility studies, project development support, and technical risk assessments. This position will require you to analyze power projects and distill technical concepts and information into actionable conclusions and recommendations on which project developers and owners, rely to develop, design, construct, operate, and finance energy projects being built in generally the KSA.. As the mechanical lead you will also be the responsible engineer in charge of coordinating other disciplines support, managing the engagements budget, being the main point of contact for the Client, and monitoring project work scope. You will work with multi-discipline project teams to provide a variety of services, such as the following:

  • Advise power project developers to support new thermal and renewable energy projects
  • Perform owner’s engineer design reviews of mechanical systems for power projects
  • Participate as mechanical lead in feasibility studies and development support for new power projects –
  • Working on various operating plant in kingdom – studies, surveys, analysis and solutions of client operating issues
  • Participate in condition assessments of existing power plants
  • Prepare and review other engineering deliverables such as reports, studies, and calculations
  • Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects
  • Develop planning studies and business cases for utilities, power producers, and government agencies.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets
  • Conduct multiple projects simultaneously and ensure high standards of deliverables are met
  • Interface with clients to understand requests and confirm successful project execution
  • Prepare proposals for new business development opportunities
  • Travel from time to time to visit project locations and client offices.
  • Working to suit various global time zones particularly USA
  • Reporting to working and working with various project Director’s and Managers in UAE, India and USA. Depending on the live projects ongoing at any time.
  • Leadership, manage and co-ordinate all of the engineering studies and assessments for the S&L KSA across all phases of work in the design and studies process

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 10 – 15 years thermal plant engineering, studies, design and project management experience
  • Undergraduate degree mechanical engineering
  • Sound knowledge of all engineering aspects of major power plant
  • Secondary knowledge of desalination and or renewables (not essential)
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • User of MS Office
  • Preferably previous experience of projects in the Middle East
  • Flexible candidate to suit variety of work types and workloads.
